Disneyland Trip Round 2

Ahhh the beach.  It soothes my soul and brings instant happiness.  I wonder why I live nowhere near the ocean.  I was so excited to watch the kids have their first experience there. Brett found us the perfect spot in Newport Beach to enjoy.  Good thing Randy was prepared and packed the kids some extra clothes!  Grandma showed Max how to stay dry...it didn't last long!

Hank was willing to sacrifice the comfort of staying dry for some amazing shells.

 Grandpa and Mino

I told you I was happy to be near the ocean!

Max started feeling more confident around the water so he got closer with Randy.

A little too close!  Poor Max got thrashed by a wave.

He got over it pretty quick.

Brett inspired Hank by finding a perfect sand dollar.
Hank was on a shell finding mission after that.

I was on a Jack squeezing mission.

My little drowned rats!

We found a nice spot to dry off and feed some birds before lunch.
I copied this pic from Sarah.  I wanted to photo shop Kate's face to complete this family portrait.  We really missed the Ross family.

When you are in Newport, eating at the Crab Cooker is a must!

Max kept saying, "I want FISH".  Surprising since he doesn't like fish.

He was far too interested in his DS to eat.  Once his precious fish arrived he couldn't stand the smell and didn't even try it.

Hank on the other hand ordered calamari on his own and ate it!  First caesar salad, then squid, what's next?  We returned to our hotel and my dad and I did a little grocery shopping while everyone took naps.  We decided to have a home cooked spaghetti dinner in our room instead of going out again.  Everyone went to bed early so we could be ready for DISNEYLAND the next day.

I'll have you know that Brett's perfect sand dollar is displayed in our kitchen window. Pretty sure he stole in back out of Hank's shell pile. I guess we all know now not to mess with Brett's beach findings. Remember how dad was certain that everything he saw washed up was a treasure? Oh cute dad. You got some great picts of him. ME...on the other hand...I'm pulling a lovely face at the Crab Cooker--all Jones' for that matter really stepped it up for that phote! Total money.
It was really sad when that wave got the best of mino man...but really classic too. That pic of Randy carrying his little soggy body out of the ocean is perfect!
