Leonardo

If you haven't been around Max in the past 2 weeks you may not know of his recent passion for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  It started when he found an old DVD I bought Hank at least 3 years ago.  He was mesmerized by the turtles and immediately insisted his name wasn't Max but Leonardo or Blue Guy.

If I happened to call him Max, he quickly corrected me by saying "I'm not Max".  Sometimes he would just completely ignore me if I said the wrong name.  He also refuses to wear a shirt because ninja turtles don't wear shirts...duh.  The only sword-like weapon we have around the house is a light saber so he insists on carrying it everywhere.
Not only was he Leonardo, but Randy was Michelangelo or Yellow Guy, I was Donatello or Purple Guy, Sarah was Raphael, and Hank was too cool to have a ninja turtle identity.  He wouldn't call me mom, even in the middle of the night.  I would hear him yelling, "Donatello!".

After weeks of this I started getting used to calling him Leo until he woke up this morning and decided to be just Max again.  I am now mom again, and Randy is dad.  I wonder what character I will be next.  I was princess Leah, Randy was the emperor, Hank was Darth Vader, and Max was Darth Maul only a few weeks ago.  He still insists that Jack be called Jawa and calls Sarah Yoda most of the time.  He can role play with the best of them!  Hang out with Max for a few days and he'll come up with a genius name for you too.

Ok...what can I say? I was on the phone with you as I first saw this post. You heard my reaction first hand...and LEONARDO IS A R-A-T!!
I adore every one of these picture...especially the piddle in the background by the toilet!
I'm just glad that Count Dooku involves me in his role playing....it's really spicing up my day to day! That, and seeing that pic of Max in his shop glasses. Too much!!

Annie, I am so sorry to hear about your little Hank. I can't imagine what you are going through. I always get gestational diabetes when pregnant, and that is hard but manageable but it is so differen't when it is something with your kids. My heart goes out to you and your adorable family. Oh, and congrats on the new little one on the way!
I just recently found out that your cute sister Kate is going to be the new principal at the school my kids go to, I was so excited! I also made my blog private a little while ago and don't think I had your email so send it to me and I will add you so if you want you can get on it. I'm not great at updating it but I do every once and awhile. (mindytrimble@yahoo.com).
Anyways, I think this is the longest comment I have ever left anyone! Sorry!! Hope all is well and that you are adjusting to all the changes in your life, we should try to get together sometime for lunch or something. :)
