Hank The Ball Boy

A few weeks ago Hank and Jimmy's awesome dad's arranged for them to be ball boys at a BYU basketball game.  Randy and James might have been a little more excited than the boys.  They were living their ball boy dreams through their sons.  Hank was a little nervous but once he was on the court, he felt right at home.

They were given brief instruction and then the warm up duties began.

Hank was in heaven rebounding the ball for the players.

He even got beaned on the head with a ball and acted like nothing even happened.
They sat under the basket the entire game and during every time-out they took turns mopping the floor.

It's hard to believe Hank and Jimmy are old enough to hold their own as ball boys.  It was so fun to watch.  We stayed after the game so Hank could get autographs.  We'll make a BYU fan out of him yet!  When we got home we had to watch the game again on T.V. to see how many times we could see Hank.  I wonder how long the BYU vs.Cal State San Marcos game will be on my DVR.
Hank has a passion for sports, no doubt about it.  If there is a ball involved, he is there 100%.  I wish his passion for Taekwondo was still as strong.  We are coming to a cross roads as he is ready to end his journey with Master Augustine.  I don't want him to quit and I'm not totally convinced he really wants to.   He has had such a hard month with his diabetes.  The pump is way more of an adjustment and challenge than we ever thought.  Most days I want to chuck it in the garbage.  The poor kid needs a break.  I feel so bad for him.  The stress of the disease is wearing on all of us.  Perhaps I should ease off and let him take a break from the rigor of martial arts.  Or, I could stick to my guns and make him follow through on a commitment he made when he joined the Black Belt Club.  I don't know what to do.  Perhaps Max could be Master's new protege!

How cool are their dads for setting that up? I would love to see Max in Taekwondo gear.

Max the TKD protege! Love that!

Oh Hankster. He has had a crappy pump month! Good thing he's got such an AMAZING life, otherwise- with parents who give him everything he needs and more! Trust me man, he's going to remember stuff like ball boying a lot more than his pump drama! He's GOT to do it again so we can come!

How cool is that? Ball boys. What a great idea. Good luck with making such decisions. It is hard to know what needs to give.....
