Sadly, our final day at Disneyland came too quick. We've been looking forward to this trip for months and just like that, it was almost over. A group shot at the entrance was a must.
I have so much love for every single person in this picture. We are so fortunate to be part of such a close family who get along so well. My nieces and nephews are like my surrogate children and my sisters and parents are truly my best friends. I even like my brothers in law!! I feel so lucky to be part of this incredible crew. We had a check list of things to accomplish on our last day starting with this picture.
We also had to capture a decent family shot. Once that was out of the way, it was time to get our ride on! Thunder Mountain Railroad was first up.
Sam gave me a break and let me ride with Hank-man.
Since it was our last day, we thought we'd take Sam on Space Mountain. There was a chance he would love it and if he hated it, we were leaving soon anyway. I snapped this picture right before he got on. He was a little unsure to put it mildly.
His face was white after the ride. He was in shock for a minute and then he totally broke down. Perhaps we jumped the gun on that ride. Bad parents.
A little spin on the Tea Cups made him feel better. My dad still has the ability to get that cup cruising. The kids loved it!
Sarah and I had a moment on the Jungle Cruise with these two rats and my dad. I maintain everyone is entitled to one emotional breakdown per day at Disneyland and mine was in that line.
Max had a love affair with his cotton candy on our way over to California Adventure.
He literally inhaled it. No wonder he was climbing every object he came in contact with.
More TOT action!
Sam loves all the shows on Disney Jr. so we had to see the live show. Surprisingly I couldn't convince my other kids to come along and the Jones boys were occupied at the Haunted Mansion. I recruited my mom and Lucy. Sitting through the cheesy show was 100% worth it.
He barely blinked. He didn't want to miss a second of his buddies from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Sophia the First.
He clapped, cheered and nervously danced to all the music. Adorable.
Speaking of adorable...
The Pixar parade didn't disappoint either. Sam was blowing kisses to all the beautiful ladies.
This precious moment had to be captured. I must add that Hank instigated this hand hold. Again, the magic of Disneyland at work.
Our final day was perfect. The weather was heavenly. The kids rode every ride they wanted to and then some. We even sprinted to California Screamin' 10 minutes before the park closed. It was such an incredible trip and it's all because of my amazing parents. Not only did they make the trip possible, but they created so many awesome memories with my kids. I have such fond memories of Disneyland as a kid with my parents and now my parents are sharing the experience with my kids. It's pretty special. I'm so lucky to have these two in my life.
I'm also pretty lucky we didn't have to drive home. Flying is the way to go! Especially when you're traveling with two bookworms. And just like that, we're home. Why must all good things come to an end? I hate coming home from vacation. Especially one this fun. Good thing I live 5 minutes away from my family!
