Easter weekend began with a fun egg coloring session. There is a perk to having all boys. They like participating in crafts but keep it very simple. No over the top details to our eggs. Just good old fashioned dye, short and sweet.
They couldn't resist eating a few of the 5 dozen eggs.
Voila! Beautiful eggs done in 30 minutes flat. We bypassed the usual dust fest out west with the Griffin's this year and opted for a get together at a park in American Fork instead. No complaints from me.
Sam + Lennon + a park + chocolate = happiness
Grandma Griffin hid little goodie bags for all the kids.
Now, time for the annual egg roll along with the explanation of the symbolic reasoning behind it. Max had some colorful interjections. So embarrassing!
Check out the form from Hank man!
Sam held onto his precious Sam egg as long as he could.
After the eggs were rolled/hucked, everyone decided to hurl their bodies down the hill.
Max was first, of course.
Hank opted for the somersault approach.
Randy couldn't resist.
The aftermath
After much indecision, Sam finally decided to give it a try.
I loved watching the kids play a little baseball with their great grandma.
She amazes me.
The following morning, the kids were thrilled to find a scavenger hunt waiting for them courtesy of the Easter Bunny.
The kids read every clue and patiently waited for Sam to keep up with them as they ran from clue to clue.
This was the first year Sam really got into it.
Their final clue brought them to my room where they found new cleats for all three of them.
With his new outfit, cleats, and soccer ball, Soccer Guy, was born.
He would not answer to any other name the entire day. Soccer Guy was the only thing he would respond to and boy was he in character.
The boys are so sweet to indulge me with a family picture on every holiday. My parents beautiful yard is the perfect back drop. After a delicious Easter Brunch, my parents took the kids on an Easter egg hunt by the pond.
These beautiful boys were ready!!
I can't believe how many eggs my parents hid. Their back yard is the perfect spot to hide eggs. I'm pretty sure we found some from last year! The amount of candy my kids accumulated rivaled Halloween.
After some precious photo ops with their grandparents, it was time for baseball.
I had to capture this mini pitching lesson with my dad and Hank. It melts my heart watching my dad work with him.
Hank really got throwing some heat after their little lesson.
Meanwhile, Sam was perfecting his rock throwing.
The throwing theme continued up the hill with our remaining eggs.
Easter 2015 was a complete success!
