Much to Hank's dismay, Randy and I are making him wait another year before he can play tackle football. When flag football registration began, I asked him if he wanted to play and he said yes. Then the season started and he claims he hates flag football. We made him play anyway since he'd already committed. I'm not buying his hatred of the game.
He seriously dominated this year both offensively and defensively. It was so fun to watch him be confident on the field. He always managed to find a way to the end zone. He'll claim otherwise but he had a blast during the games.
I realize this is probably his last flag football season. He ended his career on a serious high note.
Max on the other hand is just beginning his flag football journey. We haven't let him play in years past since it's during soccer season. He proved to us he can handle both sports this fall.
I'm so proud of Max and how teachable he is. He really listens and wants to be better.
Good thing he has the best coach in the world leading the way. I love watching Randy's secret play calling. There's always a couple kids oblivious to what's going on. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that man has the patience of a saint.
Halfway through the season, Max got his diabetes diagnosis. I'm amazed with how well he handles it during games. He always lets me test his blood during the game and does such a great job letting me know how he's feeling. That's a lot for a little 8 year old to think about.
Coach Griffin really taught these kids the game well and made sure everyone had a great experience.
Everyone improved over the course of the season.
Overall, flag football 2015 was a huge success. So proud of my awesome little athletes.
