Max is a Pumping Man!

As luck would have it, Max and Hank had appointments with Dr. Swinyard just days after our cruise.  Surprisingly their A1C's were in the right range.  When I asked Dr. Swinyard about a pump for Max, he said it was totally up to us.  We could start whenever we felt ready.  Max was ready to start that day.  He didn't even flinch as I put his site in.  He's adjusting amazingly well and so happy to be done with all the shots.

JDRF asked Max to be a youth ambassador at the annual research update in Salt Lake.  He was the host at our table and did a fantastic job.

I think he had the cutest dates there, by far!

He couldn't get enough sparkling cider.

My mom took him to the bathroom and when he returned he announced to the table that his pump fell in the toilet!  Man did he give everyone a good laugh.  Only Max.

Hank opted to go to his baseball game instead of this.  It was nice to have Max enjoy the spotlight alone for once.  I'm amazed at how this boy rolls with all the crap diabetes throws at him.  I'm so proud!
