Randy wins son in law of the year! He hooked our crew up with VIP tickets to see Neil Young. Look at that smile on my dad's face. I don't think I've ever seen him so happy. Witnessing my dad watching his idol is something I'll never forget. Plus the old dude can still jam! It was an awesome concert. At one point in the night, Randy leaned over to me and said, "I kinda feel like the best son in law ever right now."
The Cubs are on a roll and Randy had the chance to see a Division Series game at Wrigley with James and JR. He was so excited as you can see! Go Cubs Go! They had an awesome win too.
While he was gone, I held down the fort with these rascals. We had an eventful weekend as well. First of all the weather was fall perfection. Hank passed his Hunters Safety class, thanks to my dad stepping in and getting him where he needed to be. Max and Sam played in awesome soccer games. I changed Hank's Dexcom site before bed and noticed a little blood which isn't totally uncommon. Next thing I know Hank came running upstairs with blood gushing out of the site. Good times.
Sam is so much fun to watch on the soccer field. His intensity can't be matched!
I hosted bunco night with my neighbor friends while Randy was gone. These chicks are crazy. We had arm wrestling, tables flipping, and candy fights. The kids were downstairs thinking we were nuts, and they were right! Moms gone wild!
We had the chance to join these awesome people at the Adobe building to help with a JDRF fundraiser with the employees. The kids got to miss school and have delicious breakfast so they were happy. We ended up raising $2,000 in a couple hours.
Randy and I had the opportunity to meet the president of JDRF, Derek Rapp in Park City with a handful of other volunteers. His speech was so inspiring. This is the beta cell encapsulation device currently in clinical trials. It houses beta cells and is implanted under the skin. If all goes well, it will produce insulin for 2 years automatically, just as the body normally does. So exciting!
How many pictures can I take like this? I can't help myself. This dog has my heart.
