Why do they make things look so much cuter in magazine's than they are? These Frankenstein Rice Krispie treats are not nearly as cute as the picture in Parenting Magazine. I'm actually a little embarrassed to show them to the world. I thought it looked like such a fun thing for Hank and I to do but they turned out a little sad. Hank lost interest about 10 min into the process, so that left it up to me...(sad I can't blame them on Hank's lack of artistic ability). He had his Halloween party at school today and got enough candy that I don't think he needs to go trick-or-treating tomorrow! I feel like we've been celebrating Halloween for 2 weeks straight. I was planning our ward Halloween party for a month, (even though you couldn't tell by the total mayhem that ensued), and we've frequented pretty much every pumpkin patch and corn maze in Utah this fall. I'm ready for it to be over now. However, I can't wait for Max to get into his bumble bee costume tomorrow. I think he should wear it every day for the rest of his life! Now that Halloween is almost over I can focus on our trip to Disneyland. I can't wait!

I think they are darling and I applaud you for trying to do something different...sorry that I had no artistic/baking skills to pass on to you...my baking skills are limited to pumpkin squares and pumpkin bread which seem to be a huge hit with everyone, so why try to improve on perfection???..and that picture of Hank is ADORABLE....aren't they all?
oh. poor frankenstein. why so sad?
oh, and despite frankenstein's depression, kudos to you for going for it. you know everytime i try to draw or make something in my class- the kids are like- "really, mrs. jones? are you freaking kidding me?" sad. guess we can't all be brett mcguiver stewart.
oh and mom- did someone say pumpkin bars?
Great job, Mine wouldn't have even resembled a square. I fell like halloween has dragged on too. I can't wait till tomorrow. onto other holidays.
I think they look great! They look just like good ole frankenstein!
i like them, they're kind of creepy... can't wait to see pics of max as the bumble bee!
I like them Annie! I learned this same lesson the hard way. I once made little witch hats that I had seen in a magazine. I took them to Maddie's class party. The kids didn't appreciate them - they couldn't really tell what they were :)
I applaud you for making tasty and creative treats. I also applaud you for having the cutest little boy ever. That picture is unreal.
