State Baseball Tournament

The Cardinals made it to the state tournament a couple days after we returned from vacation.  Sadly, Randy had to work in Cedar City so he missed all 4 games they played.  This team gave it their all but ended up losing all of their games.  It was brutally hot too.  They pushed through the 105 degree temps and gave it their all.

There was one particular game where Hank suffered on of the worst low blood sugar episodes he's ever had.  He was playing catcher the entire game and I think the combination of the heat and all the gear mixed with low blood sugar just made everything worse.  I've never seen him so pale, sweaty and short of breath.  It really scared me but luckily, in true Hank fashion, he rallied after 15 minutes and got a base hit.  After his hit, we decided to call it a game for him.  Stupid diabetes.

Hank is my hero.  He played pitcher or catcher in all the games and pushed through less than ideal circumstances with his diabetes.  He is a true winner in my book.  I love to watch him play.
