Swimming Lessons

The kiddie pool is nice but it's time my kids learn how to swim in water deeper than 6 inches.  Ahhh swimming lessons, what a pain in the butt.  Sarah hooked us up with a great teacher in Alpine and after swimming every day for 2 weeks I'm happy to say it was a huge success!

It didn't hurt to have this awesome splash park down the street from the pool.  Between lessons the boys kept themselves entertained here.

Hank decided he didn't need swimming lessons this year so he patiently waited every day for his brothers.  I'm pretty proud to report he read two large novels in those two weeks.

First we'll discuss Max's progress.  He gained so much confidence.  Since he already knew the basics of swimming, Bailey was able to teach him more advanced strokes.

He really got the timing of his arms and breath down.  That's not easy to do.

He worked really hard on his back stroke as well.

He loves the diving board so he was excited to learn how to dive.

I'm so proud of Max.  He always tries his hardest and really listens to his teacher.

One final CANNON BALL!!

There was 30 minutes to wait every day between Max's class and Sam's.

Sam kept himself entertained.

He has no trouble making friends.

Finally his best buds would come and their private lesson started.
What a colorful crew!

Sam was hesitant at first but quickly warmed up.

I love the expression on his face.  He's pretty proud of himself.

He got more and more confident on his back.

He started putting his face in the water, a little at a time.

Then with the board.

Then all by himself.

He even started learning how to use his arms.

My little fish!

He insisted on Bailey being arms length away before he would jump.  There was always a negotiation process.

He finally did it all by himself!

On his last lesson, he learned the beginning part of how to dive.

He came so far in two short weeks.  He conquered his fears and was such a good boy for his friend Bailey.
