RV Living

No one was more excited than Randy and I when we found out Griff got a new little camper.  Since he parks it at our house, we feel like we got a new RV too!  The boys have been begging us for weeks to take them camping.  With everything going on in our family, we had to postpone it a few weeks to avoid a nervous breakdown from their mother.  Finally the time was right.  We didn't venture too far since I'm still talking to Max's doctor every night and need cell service.  Bridal Veil's RV park was the perfect spot for our first outing.  We lucked out with a great spot near the river.

The kids played some board games while Randy tried out the new grill.

I couldn't keep the boys away from the water.  Many rocks, twigs, and other objects were being hucked into the water.

Hank was on high alert with Griffy.  Especially when the fire got started.  He was nervous about pretty much everything.  I had to keep reminding him that Griffy is an animal and knows how to survive in the wilderness but he wasn't buying it.  He kept him close at all times.

Sammy was just happy to be there.

And here's Max treating a low blood sugar episode like a champ.

Red solo cups = Happy Parents

The boys were so exicited about sleeping in the RV.  Since it's really tight quarters, I had to distract them as long as possible.  There was no way I was going to be trapped in that camper at 7:30 with these crazy boys.

S'mores to the rescue!

When I couldn't hold them off any longer, we headed to our sleeping quarters.  Hank decided he wanted to try out the shower.  That was a disaster since there was no hot water.  We're still rookies to this whole RV life.  The boys thought it was hilarious but he got water everywhere!  I have to add that Griffy was such a trooper through it all.  I think he took turns sleeping with everyone during the night.  Pretty sure I did too.  Morning couldn't come soon enough!

The boys were so pumped to have a surprise visit from Grandpa Curt while we were eating breakfast.  He had a cup of coffee with us and then headed off on his Harley.

After making eggs and bacon in my little kitchen, I took a break to cuddle with my love.

Next we took a stroll to Bridal Veil Falls, shirts optional apparently.

You know me, I can't resist a photo opp.  I bet you can't guess which kid fell in the water.  Poor Max!

The boys were full of personality that morning.  Such nut balls.
When we got back to our campsite, Max had to show Hank how to be brave and get in the river.

The water was freezing.

Didn't stop this kid.  He was already wet anyway!

First one to the rock!

You know Hank wasn't going to let him be the only one.  He screamed like a little girl the entire trek to the rock though!

Although these two fight like crazy, I know there is mad love between the two of them.  They are forever bonded by their diabetes.  I'm glad they're not alone in this.

Griffy was filthy by the time we left but had a blast and once again proved he is the perfect dog for our family.  It was a short trip but a much needed break for all of us.  I can't wait for another RV adventure!
