Randy's Birthday at Brian Head and Happy New Year!

Randy decided a weekend of skiing at Brian Head was what he wanted to do for his birthday this year.  Poor Griffy wanted to go so badly, cute little pooch.  He knows when we are leaving him.

After we got settled in our cabin, we decided to enjoy a little night skiing.  We didn't plan very well because by the time we got on the lift everyone was starving.

We honestly made 2 runs before Hank had a pretty scare low episode.  It took 20 minutes on the top of the mountain to get his blood to come up.  It was a good effort but we probably should've just eaten dinner instead.

Pizza's never tasted so good.

We woke early the next morning, ready to tackle the mountain with our birthday boy.

Hank is still trying to decide if he likes skiing.

Eggs and cinnamon rolls by yours truly.

It was a blue bird day.  Spirits were high!

Sam did amazing!  The boys wanted to test their skills out on a black diamond and Sam refused to go the easier route.  I told him moguls and edgie wedgies don't really mix so he said, "take them off".  So I did and he never looked back.  Hank has turned into a skiing fanatic and Max is always willing to learn and try new things.

That night, the Bromley's came up to enjoy the New Years Eve/Birthday festivities with us.  There were fireworks and skiers coming down the mountain with torches.  So cool!

After we'd have enough freezing our butts off, we headed back to the cabin for cake.

Such a wonderful day with this nut.  Man oh man are we grateful he was born.

The next morning the boys were ready to rock.

The weather was a bit treacherous but that didn't stop us.

After a full day of skiing, we went to the Bromley's for dinner.  The boys were fast asleep minutes after we got in the car.

We had a final half day on the mountain and Max decided to stay back with Randy.  I took these die hard skiers up the lift for what proved to be a very windy morning.

I can't believe what a trooper Sam was on this trip.  It makes me so exited for the upcoming ski season.  Finally, all 3 kids can ski together.  It's a beautiful thing.

We headed home and let Randy open all his gifts.  The kids were stoked to get him various Cubs gear and a Fitbit.  It was the perfect celebration.  Randy deserves every celebration happening on New Years Eve.  It's quite fitting his birthday falls on the biggest party night of the year.  He lives to make us happy and succeeds every single day.  I couldn't love this man of mine more.

And, don't worry, Griffy had a celebration of his own with the Conkey's!
