Jack-Man

I had the honor of taking Jack in as one of my own last weekend.  Sarah and Brett had a funeral to attend in Idaho and they entrusted me to care for their precious child.  Jack is officially the happiest kid on the planet.  I've never seen a kid laugh as he goes to bed and laugh the moment he wakes up.  The entire Griffin family was smitten.  Hank and I took Jack to his house to sleep each night since I knew he would sleep like a champ there.  Once Jack fell asleep, Hank and I had some quality mother-son bonding time watching movies, eating popcorn, and reading books in Sarah's bed.

I  bravely bathed all three boys at the same time!  Jack couldn't stop giggling and neither could I.  Surprisingly there wasn't any fighting, pooping in the tub, or massive flooding to report.

We spend the majority of the day upstairs in the playroom.  Jack was a little timid playing basketball with the boys at first.  He looks terrified in this picture.

It didn't take him long to warm up and show off his skills.

Most people would be terrified if they saw Max pull this face, but not Jack.  He loved throwing anything he could find in the hoop, football, play food, chalk, spatula, measuring cups,  it didn't matter!

Max doesn't let just anyone share his pillow.  These two bonded while they watched Toy Story 3 over and over again.
Hank told me he wished Sarah and Brett would be gone for 100 days so we could have Jack longer.  We had so much fun with him.  Randy even taught Jack some Griffin-style wrestling moves.  I am so lucky to live so close to all my nieces and nephews and spend so much time with them.  Come back real soon Jack-man, we miss you already!

Oh, man. How do I even begin to thank you??? I cannot even come close to telling you how much it means to me to know that I can leave Jack with someone like you and know that without a doubt, his every need will be met. I can only imagine how much more difficult leaving him would have been had he not been with you and your family. Not only did you take care of Jack...you helped take care of me, too...always telling me how good he was being...and genuinely acting like you enjoyed having him--exactly what every mother would want to be told!

Jack pretty much hasn't stopped telling me all about the fun he had at your house. Love all the picts! That tub picture will go down in history! So glad our boys can grow up together. Oh, and that action shot of him driving to the hoop is pretty impressive...obviously he picked up some new moves during his stay!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
(To Randy, Max, and Hank, too!)

PS. Tell Hank he can have some more Jack-sleepovers...except this time...I think it's HIS parents turn to run away...I'm just here waiting for the day! Say the word!
