I'm thrilled to introduce the world to the newest member of our family. Meet Griffy! After years of begging and pleading from our kids, Randy and I decided the timing was right for a puppy. I finally feel ready for a dog and when we found Griffy we both knew he was the one. Let me rewind to the beginning of June. We narrowed in on the right breed, cockapoo, and found the perfect pup. He was still too little to leave his mom but we had to drive up to Payson to put a deposit down on him. We debated if we should tell the kids but neither Randy or I could contain our excitement. We decided to let the kids meet their 3 week old puppy. I'll never forget their reaction when we told them we were getting a dog. Hank almost started to cry he was so happy. I knew in that moment we made the right decision to get a dog.
It was love at first sight.
In a liter of 7 pups, Griffy was the only black one. His mom is a cockapoo and his dad is a teacup poodle. He won't get bigger than 15 pounds and won't shed. Perfect! It was a little mean introducing the kids to their dog and then telling them they had to wait 5 weeks to get him.
Finally the day came and it was well worth the wait. We are obsessed!!
Everyone came over to meet him. I felt like I just had a new baby!
When we picked him up from the breeder, they told us he was the most shy of all the puppies. They told us he doesn't like loud noises and loves to cuddle. I suppose he'll have to get over the loud noises if he's going to live at our house. We all took turns sleeping on the air mattress next to his kennel the first night. This dog is going to get more love than he'll know what to do with.
He loves to snuggle up to anyone who will cuddle with him.
It's totally normal for the entire family to come to his first vet appointment.
Be prepared for an overload of Griffy pics. He goes everywhere we go! We are so happy to have this sweet pup in our home.
