Brett has been hard at work on his family's cabin for months. Now the construction is complete, we got invited to spend some time up there with the family. The cabin is conveniently located close to Jordanelle Reservoir so we brought the boat. Despite the looming rain clouds, we forged on. Everyone was packed in like sardines as we searched for a beach. The kids were dying to get on the lake.
Jack is quite the little tuber. He didn't want to get off.
The choppy water wasn't ideal for Sarah's pregnant state so I played mom to Jack and Tucker.
I even got Tuck to take a little snooze on my lap. Heaven!
Unfortunately, the weather continued to get worse.
Our fearless captain kept all of us safe in the trecherous conditions.
Hank was shivering uncontrollably after he got off the tube.
This isn't exactly what I had in mind for my dad's first adventure on our boat.
Randy made the executive decision to head in.
We got warm in the marina, had some hot chocolate and found blue skies when we came outside.
Back to the lake we went. It's way too much work to go boating for only a few hours.
I can't get enough of Max's boating hair!
We were able to salvage a few more hours of fun in the sun before the clouds rolled in once more. It ended up being a really fun day.
One of my favorite things about staying in a cabin for a few days is waking up to my favorite people. I loved looking out the window to see my mom in her pajamas pushing Sam on the swing.
She perfectly fits in the todler seat.
I love when Hank wants to snuggle. He's such a family loving kid. Mornings like this make me want to live on a compound next to my entire family.
Hank found a fun 4-wheeler trail to take Sam on.
There is so much beauty to enjoy up there.
I loved our evening stroll along the river.
Sam was obsessed with this random teeter totter we found.
S'mores and ghost stories
One afternoon we took a drive to the Provo River Falls. The kids took a cat nap on the way.
You'll notice my mom and Lucy have a hand on Max in the previous pictures. Everyone was on high alert with him near the waterfalls. He's an unpredictable one.
Even Sam was panicked.
He pleaded with Max not to go near the water
I wouldn't let him out of my sight.
Don't worry Sammy Boy--I've got this!
Nothing gives Max a thrill like freaking me out. Such a little punk!
Here we are, the whole Fam Damily! We are so lucky to live so close to one another.
The menfolk
I love these ladies so much!
We had to take advantage of the stream behind the cabin.
I could float down this stream all day.
These kiddies adore their Grandma Jackie, as they should.
We had to enjoy a little teeter totter action before we headed home.
Feeling a little unsatisfied with our boating excursion earlier in the week, we stopped at the lake on our way home for a few hours with our boys.
We had gorgeous blue skies and sunshine! I love my down for anything family. We managed to make it the entire weekend without any mishap.
Then Sam fell out of the truck onto our driveway the second we got home. Go figure.
