MEXICO Part 1

Finally, after months of waiting, it was time for our trip to Mexico!  Randy was acting so strange the morning we left.  He was so uptight and stressed out.  I kept reassuring him we would make our flight in time but he was on edge.  He spilled his coffee, struggled through security and wouldn't stop checking his phone.  When we saw Brandon and Gina walking down the terminal, I immediately understood why he was so worried.  They had just pulled off one of the best surprises I've ever gotten.  I was in complete shock.  Once we boarded the plane I kept looking over at them and laughing.  I still can't believe they kept the secret.  I was so pumped to have them join us!  The fact that they were plotting this surprise for months made me feel so loved.

A few hours in the air and boom....

Paradise!

I can't think of a friend I would rather share this experience with.  I was on cloud nine and stayed there the entire week.

And this guy....I can't get over how thoughtful and amazing he is.  I can never top this.  I also need to give him props for saving my life the first night in Cancun.  I was so excited to get in the ocean I missed the giant red warning flags placed all along the beach.  Quickly I realized I was being carried out to sea by the strong current.  I yelled for help and my man came to my rescue just in the nick of time.  Drowning on the first day was not on our agenda!  We stayed at Los Sandos, an all inclusive resort.  Everything we needed was at our fingertips. We really had no reason to go anywhere else.

Brandon and Gina proved to be the best travel companions.  They were perfectly content chilling on the beach every day.  It was just what the doctor ordered.

The white sandy beaches and stunning blue water in Cancun is unbelievable.

The baskets of fudge waiting outside our room was a very nice touch.

We enjoyed a authentic Mexican dinner one night and told our servers it was Gina's birthday in few days.  They sang to her and all waited in line to give her a big birthday hug.

This guy was stoked!!

This particular night was full of adventure and craziness.  What happens in Cancun, stays in Cancun!

The following morning Gina and I enjoyed a little morning yoga session.  After that we went from pool, to beach, to drinking, then eating.  We continued this pattern for days.  It was heaven.

Hola Amiga!

Jorge was at our beck and call all week.  We were never without a cold beverage in our hands and nachos on our plate.  He wasn't bad to look at either, although he's a baby.  Gina and I are a couple cougars!

After sufficient time at the beach, we decided to head downtown to explore the market.

These men in masks stopped us abruptly.  My face!

I'm not sure if they were working for tips or what but they sure gave us some undivided attention.

We hit the wall about this point in the shopping trip.  Our amigo gave us a nice spot to rest.  I walked away with a coffee mug for my souvenier.

After we got cleaned up we headed to dinner.

My view at dinner.

Randy decided to spice up our evening by jumping in the pool...comletely naked!  Since this is a family friendly blog, I'll refrain from posting some highly inappropriate, yet hilarious pictures.  Let's just say the back stroke was his favorite!  Brandon started running the second Randy took his clothes off.  Poor thing was terrified of getting caught.  Gina and I were on the ground, laughing hysterically.

My man!
