Over the past few weeks we have been surrounded by adorable dogs. My kids have been bugging me for months to get one of our own. After watching them with these various dogs, I might be caving. The Robert's let us puppy sit little Welsh while they went to Lagoon. He is adorable. My kids are in love.
Grandpa Griff's dog Stewie came over for an afternoon of play a few days later. Stewie is one of the most athletic dogs I've ever seen. It was a perfect match with my kids. They played soccer and Frisbee with him for hours.
Then we got to have Dove stay at our house for a week while my parents were out of town. Hank took the responsibility of caring for Dove very seriously. Unfortunately she was so excited she had a little diarrhea and Randy had to walk with the shovel just in case she went on a neighbors lawn.
We were spoiled rotten with Dovey. She let all the kids walk her, slept like a baby most of the day, and provided love and companionship to all of us.
We probably walked 15 miles over the course of the week. Dove was exhausted by the time my dad picked her up. It's going to take her a month to recover from being at our house.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but Randy and I are secretly looking for a puppy. I can't resist. The kids have really proven themselves. Plus, I think I'm finally ready to be a dog owner again.
