JRI Insurance Goes to Lake Powell Part 2

Oh man did it feel good to be at the lake after our hike of death.  I had to take a moment today to reflect on all this man of mine has accomplished.  I'm so proud!

A highlight for me was taking the ladies out for a wake boarding session.  No boys allowed.  It is so fun for me to get to know Nicole, Delanie, and Katie.  They definitely learned who DJ Wanksta is.  I have to also mention the low point of the trip.  I forgot the boys pump supplies.  The worst thing I could've possibly left at home.  It's not something I can get at a pharmacy.  I was in full panic mode all morning long.  I got needles and lantus prescribed so I could give the kids shots at least.  Sarah, bless her heart found this courier service who was able to pick up the supplies in Lehi and bring them to me in Arizona for 100 bucks.  When we got off the lake, a sweet lady was standing in the hotel lobby with a box of pump supplies.

Thank goodness one of us can keep a sense of humor during stressful times.

Fun boat ride with my little buddy.

His laugh is contagious!  Apparently carrots are hilarious.

There was plenty of wrestling and mud throwing at the beach.

Managing two boats proved to be a little challenging.  Next time we need some high powered walkie talkies.  We got lost a few times.

Max and Hank were such good sports giving themselves shots all day.  They never complained about it once.  We were starving by the time we sat down for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

You can imagine the girls were obsessed with little Sammy.

The next morning this brah was ready for another day at the lake.

Hank wanted to be anywhere the ladies were.  Such a little ladies man.

His little bro is just like him!  Tina offered to drive the boat so I could get a quick wake boarding session in.  The water was glass.  The calm before an epic storm.

Everyone was having so much fun we didn't want to leave.  It became pretty clear this wasn't a storm that was going to blow over.

We frantically took down camp while James took this crew cliff jumping.  Not the best decision we could've made.

Randy had to drive the truck to the marina to pick up the boat trailer.  Once the storm died down a little, I agreed to drive the boat to the marina with Christina, Sam, and Dehlia.  I've never driven a boat in the dark.  Lightning was striking all around us and the wind was picking up.  It was terrifying but I tried to keep calm for Sam.  He was beside himself.  He finally cried himself to sleep as we approached the marina.  We waited, and waited, and waited.  I tried to call Randy but soon realized his phone was on the boat.  Meanwhile, James has Hank on the other boat.  We had no idea where they were.  After 20 minutes of waiting in the storm I spotted Randy's truck cruising down the boat ramp, with no trailer hooked on.  He couldn't find it.  We tied to boat up cause I couldn't stand another second on it and I was certain I could find the trailer.  Thirty minutes later, I couldn't find the trailer either.  Meanwhile, James was at the other marina and ran a mile to our marina to get his truck and find our trailer.  We finally found it around 11 pm.  It was tucked behind a truck and it was extremely dark.  We were all so emotionally exhausted when we returned to the hotel.  We just sat and starred at each other.  We inhaled a few pieces of pizza and went to bed.  I'm so grateful we all made it safe off the lake.  Things could've very easily been worse.

Through it all Sam held onto our room key!

I was worried after our series of mishaps, the entire JRI crew would be quitting when they got home.  It was quite the opposite.  It was a team building, bonding experience for all of us.  Memories for years to come.  As we said goodbye to everyone, our little family geared up for another day on the lake.  Just our little crew.
